NEWS: Equine Pathway to 2012

We are very proud that Serious Opposition has been selected to join the Equine Pathway to 2012. The pathway was established in 2006 to build a database of horses with Olympic potential – it is a huge achievement for Coral, who produced the horse herself.

Being part of the Equine Pathway 2012 means that the horses records are kept on file and both horse and rider are invited to training days during the season. It is an opportunity for top trainers and vets to assess progress and give advice on how best to develop the horses.

The Equine Pathway is assessed and updated on a regular basis and horses need to meet their various development targets in order to remain on the list. The list will get shorter as we get closer to the 2012 Olympic Games, but if the Equine Pathway proves to be successful, and finance allowing, it is the intention to roll this out to 2014, 2016 and beyond.
